Remnant Family Ministries began in 2000 when a youth and family pastor was given a vision for a ministry that called together those who long to be Jesus’ faithful disciples in our increasingly pagan culture. The calling was expanded in 2006 with the idea that Remnant was not one church or location, but rather those whom God calls out in every age to be on fire for Him. Remnant Young Men and SYM, a singles and young marrieds group, were both started that year, and attended by many from various fellowships. A Bible study for young mothers soon followed. In 2009 a ministry for the whole family began, and Remnant Family Ministries was fully born. Eating together, family worship, a variety of speakers and small groups for all ages are some of the core elements. In 2010 Remnant Bible Quizzing for both youth and children was added. Over the years, Remnant has hosted many events for the whole family, including witnessing throughout our neighborhoods, caroling at Christmas time, summer carnivals, harvest parties, Thanksgiving potlucks, nights of remembrance of the Last Supper, missions emphases (including reenacting an underground church meeting), all-nights and evenings of prayer, witness training, potlucks in the park, concerts, and on and on. Meanwhile, when we get together, it is to raise up faithful followers of Jesus Christ who are grounded in His Word and prayer, and ready to give a reason for the hope that lies within us! The reason for the name “Remnant” is that we desire to be those who refuse to bow the knee to cultural paganism, but instead are faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ. This ministry is for all who desire this, even if they don’t call Fruitland their church home. Invite your friends and family!
